I have 15+ years experience in Residential & Commercial Design, as well as some Mechanical Design experience. After working in the commercial construction industry for 9 years, and teaching Architecture & Drafting for 6 years, I decided to branch out and open my own design company. Grit & Grace Designs strives to offer a personal experience for our clients throughout the design process. While our main focus will be Residential & Small Commercial Design, we also offer other design services. We look forward to working with our local community and beyond!
My Story
My husband Michael and I married in November 2007. We have three children - Amy, Levi and Jacob. So, our life stays pretty busy with church, school and sports.
I have an Associates degree in Drafting & Design from MS Delta Community College. After graduation, I decided to further my career. In May 2008, I graduated from University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors in Architectural Engineering Technology. I worked 9 years with a local construction company. While there, I had the opportunity to design a variety of commercial projects. In 2015, I felt led to change my career and follow my dream of teaching. I had the opportunity to teach Architectural Drafting & Design at a local high school. While there, I had the privilege of being an advisor for SkillsUSA where I accompanied students to many competitions, including National SkillsUSA several times. I also had the honor of taking students to Washington D.C. to a National Leadership Institute. I hope that I was able to impact my students with skills and memories that will last a lifetime - I know I will cherish those memories forever.
Towards the end of my 6th year, I knew it was time for another move. While, I enjoyed teaching and still love to find teachable moments with others, I felt it was time to take a journey on my own, hence the beginning of Grit & Grace Designs LLC. With this venture, I hope to share my gifts and passions to help others’ dreams a reality.
